What Is This Session About?

Inclusive workplaces cannot be achieved through hiring alone. Employees with disabilities and diverse learning needs require equitable access to learning opportunities, skills development, onboarding and workplace growth. Yet many managers, trainers and workplace learning professionals are not equipped to identify learning barriers or design inclusive learning experiences.

This practice-oriented programme provides participants with practical frameworks, workplace-tested strategies and ready-to-use tools to redesign learning activities, communication approaches and workplace support systems. Through realistic workplace scenarios, participants will learn how to apply reasonable accommodation, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and inclusive communication techniques to improve learner participation, engagement and performance.
Participants will leave with a customised Inclusive Workplace Learning Redesign Template and actionable strategies they can immediately apply within their own teams and organisations.

What Does The Session Cover?

The programme equips participants with the knowledge and practical strategies to create accessible and inclusive learning experiences for employees with disabilities and diverse learning needs. As organisations seek to widen their talent pool, improve employee retention, and support workforce diversity, learning environments must be designed to accommodate employees with varying abilities, learning profiles and accessibility needs. The programme explores common barriers to workplace learning, principles of reasonable accommodation, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), inclusive communication and workplace support strategies.

Through workplace scenarios, case discussions and practical activities, participants will learn to identify learning barriers, consider appropriate accommodations, adapt learning materials and activities using UDL principles, and communicate effectively with employees with diverse needs. The programme concludes with participants developing an action plan to strengthen inclusive workplace learning practices within their own work context.
